The place is known for its several kilometers long beach, and along the entire beach there are restaurants, taverns, cafes and of course a promenade where you can walk for hours.

Perea is known for its fish restaurants with a very long tradition, so even Thessalonikians visit Perea for fresh fish in Perea taverns, both in summer and in winter, because Perea is a city that lives all year round.

From the town of Perea, a boat runs daily to the center of Thessaloniki. The boat ride takes 35 minutes and costs €3 per person in one direction.

A city bus goes to Thessaloniki every half hour, and the ticket price is €1-2. The first bus stop is near the Cosmos shopping center, and then it continues to the center.

Perea has a large number of supply stores, among them the famous Greek chain Masutis as well as Lidl.
